Lots of big yoga related announcements! We're settled into our new home here in Sunnyvale, CA. My jewelry studio is 1/2 assembled: without a torch my technical abilities are limited. Regulators are an important piece of equipment which control the flow of gas to your torch. Mine are about 10 years old (what?!) so before setting them back up on fresh tanks, they should probably get checked over by a welding shop. In the mean time, I'm solidly focused on yoga. Here's what's new!

First and foremost:

Yoga Book Club

Please join me on the first Sunday of the month for a Yoga Book Club! Our first book is How Emotions Are Made: The Secret Life of the Brain, by Lisa Feldman Barrett. Physical and digital copies are widely available, and you are responsible for obtaining your own copy.

Where: my home in Sunnyvale, CA near Washington Park. Address will be distributed to confirmed participants.

When: the first Sunday of the month, at 7pm. Our first meeting will be on October 7th, 2018.

What: Each month, we will read a book related in some way to yoga philosophy. We will NOT read the standard yoga books like Siddhartha or the Yoga Sutras. They are wonderful books, but we will be focused on science based books which support (or contradict!) yoga philosophy. Reading a wide range of genres which both support and question practicing yoga aids in critical thinking, and will hopefully strengthen our individual practices.

I will lightly guide an open discussion on each book, with an emphasis on how it relates to yoga.

Tea and snacks will be provided, feel free to bring any additional beverages you'd like. This is a free event, but if you’d like to offer a donation it will go towards the Yoga Scholarship Fund.

Secondly, this month I'm going to be building an outdoor yoga platform in our backyard. Redwood trees overhead, this is going to be a sweet outdoor space to share an asana and meditation practice. If you're interested in private instruction, there's more info here, or you can email me at Natalie@SalayiDesigns.com.

If you prefer public classes, I'll be teaching at the 24 Hour Fitness Sunnyvale Super Sport Thursdays at 7:30 pm, starting September 7.

My classes are open to all levels from absolute beginners to seasoned practitioners. With a strong focus on anatomy and breath connection, you'll have an opportunity to tune into your self, drop out of your thoughts and let your body unwind. My classes are a sandwich of restorative postures with a strong flow of standing postures.
