Calvin and Hobbs tie clip- finished work

This one is finished and ready to mail out! It’s made from 20 individual pieces of silver, and has a nice springy clip on the back. 

After all the soldering was finished, I added the patina  with liver of sulpher. This is a stinky (like rotten eggs) chemical which comes in little rock-like chunk. Hot water is poured over one little chunk to creat a stinky brew, which oxidizes metals like silver and copper. 

The piece was finished with a brass brush, and at that point was ready to be worn!
