Calvin and Hobbs tie clip- progress pics

This afternoon, some details like the tiger stripes were added, and I started soldering. Hobbs’ facial features are soldered down, and I flowed solder on the back sides of the other flat pieces. I also constructed the wagon handle from wire, and drilled a hole for it to attach to. 

Hobbs’ foot is currently etching. Next steps are to engrave the lines of Calvin’s shirt, cut and shape and prep his hands for soldering, solder his facial features down, and then solder everything to the back plate. 

The last step is to solder the actual tie clip mechanize onto the back, but that will be done absolutely last to preserve the springiness of the clip.
