Calvin and Hobbs tie clip- progress pics

Bit by bit! 

There are still a few small pieces to cut out (paw pads, the wagon handle and Calvin’s arms) and some etching to do for textures, like on Hobb’s white fur. 

One of the last steps before soldering everything together, many of these individual pieces will be shaped by filing, and some textures will be added with files and chasing tools. 

While I’m working, most of the pieces still have the template taped onto the right side, so I spend most of my time arranging everything on the wrong side, in reverse. 

Every once in a while though, I like to flip everything over and double check how everything looks from the right side. It’s easier to line everything up more precisely since I have the template for the back plate available, although I’ll leave the template on until the whole piece is ready to solder since it protects the metal from being scratched.
