Progress pics- new commission under way

This is going to be a challenging piece to build- a  teeny tiny zither! 

The material round-up included metals and a very small diamond from Rio Grande, and Ferric Nitrate from a scientific supply company here California. 

And it's started! This is just the background layer. Other pieces will be cut out and layered on top, and details will be added along the way. The biggest challenge on this piece is going to be the strings. 

There will also be some etching on the back, something I haven't done since college!
